Louisa Rose (Chair)
Louisa Rose has a long and illustrious career in the Australian wine industry, most prominently as former Chief Winemaker of Yalumba where she remains as Head of Sustainability and Brand Ambassador. Louisa has also been an active member of the scientific community joining the ASVO in 1991 and has championed technical innovation across the wine industry. Rose has won many awards for her work: 1999 Barossa Winemaker of the Year, 2004 International Woman in Wine (London IWSC), 2008 Gourmet Traveller WINE Magazine Winemaker of the Year and 2013 Winemaker of the Year by the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology. In 2017 Rose was named a Fellow of the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology. Louisa Rose is Chair of the Board and will also head up the technical committee for The Australian Ark Foundation.
Andrew Caillard MW
Andrew Caillard MW is a multi-award winning Master of Wine and has worked with many leading wine businesses in Australia, Europe and Asia over his career. He is best known as a co-founder of Australian wine auction house Langton’s, as an advocate for Australia’s fine wine agenda and his creation of the Langton’s Classification. Andrew has written over ten books, including The Australian Ark which won the inaugural OIV President’s Award, a National Trust Heritage Award and the André Simon Award. In 2025 Andrew received the IWSC Wine Communicator Trophy, was crowned Australian Wine Communicator of the Year for the second time and won the Maurice O’Shea Award for his significant long-term contribution to the Australian wine industry. Andrew is a patron of The Australian Ark Foundation.
Dr Angus Hughson
Angus Hughson is an award winning publisher and wine writer with a focus on building a greater understanding of Australian fine wine, both in local and international markets. He is Australian Editor for Vinous with Antonio Galloni, as well as Founder of Winepilot and The Vintage Journal. In 2021 Angus began working with Andrew Caillard MW to raise funding, project manage and co-publish The Australian Ark, which has since won numerous local and international awards. Angus is now the Executive Director of The Australian Ark Foundation overseeing fundraising and operations.
Amanda Whiteland
Amanda Whiteland is the dynamic former CEO of the Margaret River Wine Association, where she led the organisation for nine years and played a pivotal role in strengthening the Margaret River wine region’s brand recognition, particularly across key international markets. Prior to returning to her native Western Australia, Amanda built an extensive international career in premium brand marketing, beginning in Japan as Regional Manager for Foster’s Wine Estates (now Treasury Wine Estates), managing its international wine portfolio. She subsequently held domestic brand marketing roles in Australia before spending three years with Moet Hennessy in Paris. With more than 25 years’ experience in the wine sector, Amanda brings a unique combination of expertise in brand marketing, regional identity, international markets and cultural values, which is widely respected across the industry.
